High Rise Residential Condominium Towers
on the Parking Lot of Bridlewood Mall.



 

    On June 10th, 2008 Scarborough Community Council met to consider the Bridlewood re-development proposal.

    A number of the Stand Up Bridletowne Committee members gave deputations expressing many different concerns.

    Council unanimously voted for a detailed review of the application:

  • Herb Richter spoke to the proposed residential and commercial parking scheme. Click here.
    "Parking, as proposed, would be negative for the health of the mall and the quality of life of the new residents and for the existing neighbourhood."

  • Helen Jankul addressed school over-crowding. Click here.
    "All the schools in our community, except for one, ... are full to capacity, some are over capacity"

  • Patricia Sinclair discussed good and better planning Click here.
    "Scarborough is growing rapidly and without sensible development the impact will reverberate for decades to come."

  • Margaret Maciver compared hostipal services in the area to those in other areas: Click here.
    "The north end of Scarborough has been shortchanged and is underserviced when it comes to hospital facilitiles." and
    "It is irresponsible to even consider adding many more housing units to our area unless..."
